Demo Studio ("the Service") is operated by Hugo Software and runs at demo.bnj.app. This page explains exactly what we do and do not collect.
The short version
Your video never leaves your browser. There is no account, no password, and we do not store your email address.
What stays on your device
Everything you record or open in Demo Studio — the screen recording itself, any microphone audio you chose to include, video files you drag in, and every frame of the file you export — is processed entirely inside your web browser. Recording, frame analysis, camera movement, compositing and MP4 encoding all run as JavaScript on your own machine, using your browser's own screen-capture and video-encoding features.
The Service has no endpoint that accepts video, audio or frames. There is nothing on our servers that could receive, store or read your recording, even if we wanted to. Your clip lives in the tab's memory and disappears when you close or reload the tab.
Your browser's local storage keeps, on your device only:
- your frame settings (background, aspect ratio, margin, corner, shadow, window frame),
- any looks you chose to save,
- your licence code, if you have one,
- your language and light/dark preference.
You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's site-data settings.
Screen recording and microphone permissions
When you press "Record screen", your browser asks you to choose a screen, window or tab, and asks separately for microphone access if you ticked that option. That permission is granted to your own browser, not to us: the captured stream is written straight into memory in your tab. We never receive the stream, and we cannot start or continue a recording without you choosing the source in your browser's own dialog.
What we store on our server
If you subscribe, our licence service stores one row containing:
- your licence code (format
BNJ-XXXXXXXX), - the subscription status, plan and current period end,
- the Stripe customer identifier.
We deliberately do not store your email address; the payment webhook writes it as empty. Your licence code is the only identifier, which is why keeping a copy of it matters — it is how you restore access on another device.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Checkout happens on Stripe's own hosted pages; card numbers are never entered into, transmitted through or stored by Demo Studio. Stripe processes your payment data as an independent controller under Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Analytics
We use Umami, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool running on our own server at uma.bnj.app. It records aggregate page views and referrers. It sets no tracking cookies, builds no cross-site profile, and is not shared with advertisers. There are no advertising SDKs, no social login and no third-party trackers on this site.
Cookies
Demo Studio sets no tracking cookies. The only browser storage used is the local storage described above, which is technical and stays on your device.
Your rights
Because we hold almost nothing about you, most requests are simple: you can ask us to delete your licence row, and you can clear your browser storage yourself at any time. If you are in the EU/UK, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR. Write to us and we will act within 30 days.
Children
The Service is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it.
